    Place Cameras at Entry & Exit Points First
    The most valuable camera positions are always entry doors, parking gates and stairwells. Cover these first before adding interior cameras. Most break-ins are captured at entry — not inside.

    Check Your DVR Hard Disk Every 6 Months
    Hard disks in DVR/NVR systems fail over time — especially in hot environments. A failing disk may stop recording silently. Regular health checks during AMC visits prevent this from going unnoticed.

    Clean Camera Lenses Every 3 Months
    Dust, spider webs and rain marks reduce camera clarity dramatically. Clean lens covers with a soft cloth every 3 months for consistently sharp footage — especially for outdoor cameras.

    Enroll Multiple Fingers in Biometric Devices
    Register at least 2 fingers per employee in your biometric attendance system. Fingerprint recognition can fail due to dry skin or minor cuts — a second enrolled finger prevents unnecessary lockouts.

    Deactivate Lost RFID Cards Immediately
    When an employee leaves or loses their RFID card, deactivate it from the system the same day. Unlike physical keys, card deactivation takes under a minute and ensures no unauthorised access is possible.

    Test Your Fire Alarm System Every Quarter
    Trigger a manual test of your fire alarm system at least every 3 months. Detectors can become insensitive to smoke over time. Regular testing ensures the system will activate when it matters most.

    A power cut should not leave your premises unprotected. Install a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems to keep them running during power failures.

    Verify Remote Access on Your CCTV Regularly
    Test your mobile app CCTV viewing once a month. Network changes, router resets or ISP IP changes can sometimes break remote access — catching it early means you are never in the dark during an incident.
